Spring is a Time for...
With every season comes new beginnings! We think of Spring as a time when not only the weather gets warmer and the days get brighter, but the birth of something new. Trees are starting to bud, flowers are blooming, seedlings in gardens are popping up showing the birth of nature has arrived.
We take time to 'Spring Clean' and get rid of the old and make space for the new. We also take time to see what fruits and vegetables are in season and eat what is fresh from the farmers market.
This is also a time to "Spring Clean' our digestive system! Even if you eat clean and healthy 90% of the time, there are environmental factors that play a role as to what is in your gut. Taking a 2-3 day cleanse to give your body a break from digestion and letting the body take time to heal is so beneficial. When you digestive system is composed mainly of happy bacteria, then everything flows the way it should!
A cleanse can come in a variety of forms. My favorite is doing a juice cleanse. This means that the majority of your meals are coming from a rainbow of juices. What most people don't realize is that a juice cleanse can also consist of having salad (only fruit and veggies), veggie broth, kombucha and water. Giving your digestive system a break from breaking down all of the food that you eat, you give it a chance to not only absorb an intense amount of vitamins and nutrients but to rest and heal.
Here's a tip, our bodies should be eliminating at a minimum once a day. If you are struggling in this area, then it is time to clear the highways and get your body back in sync and doing a juicing cleanse is a great way to get started!
